Team Toyota GB targets polished performance with Autoglym

20-Mar-2019

Team Toyota GB with Speedworks Motorsport is aiming to add an extra layer of shine to its 2019 British Touring Car Championship challenge, after confirming a new technical partnership with car care and valeting specialist Autoglym.

Arguably the most talked-about team of the winter off-season following its transformation from reigning two-time Independents’ Champion into a fully-fledged Manufacturer outfit – after gaining the official backing of Toyota GB – the Northwich, Cheshire-based squad recently completed a successful first test with the all-new Corolla it will run in 2019 at Spain’s Circuit Calafat.

The #80 entry will be driven by 25-year-old Bucks-born ace Tom Ingram – widely regarded as one of the sport’s fastest-rising stars – and will proudly carry the Autoglym logo throughout the forthcoming campaign, as the UK’s premier motor racing series tours the length and breadth of the country.

Christian Dick, Team Principal, Team Toyota GB with Speedworks Motorsport, said:

“We are delighted to announce this new agreement with Autoglym. The brand’s motto – ‘Passion for Perfection’ – really resonates with the ethos embraced by both Speedworks and Toyota GB, with attention-to-detail at the very heart of everything we do. I am sure they will prove to be an invaluable partner in our quest to extract every last thousandth-of-a-second out of our new Corolla.

“The fact that Autoglym’s products are sold in more than 45 countries worldwide is testament to their inherent and enduring quality, and to team up with such a household name is very exciting indeed. We are really looking forward to working together.”

Paul Caller, Chief Executive Officer, Autoglym, said:

“Everybody at Autoglym is thrilled to be joining forces with Team Toyota GB with Speedworks Motorsport to help them maximise the performance of the new Corolla and meet the highest standards of presentation. Our technical partnership will ensure that the team can work smart in their vehicle preparation, secure in the knowledge that they are using the best car care products available.

“We have been following the progress and development of Tom and Speedworks for some time now, and it is only fitting that they have been successful in gaining Manufacturer status after all their hard work and well-deserved results. Clearly, we wish everyone at Team Toyota GB with Speedworks Motorsport the very best for the season ahead, and we look forward to helping them keep the car and inevitable silverware clean!”

The 2019 BTCC campaign will begin at Brands Hatch’s Indy Circuit in Kent on 6/7 April, with all of the high-speed, high-octane, wheel-to-wheel action broadcast live and in high-definition on ITV4.
