Motul to sponsor Team Toyota GB with Speedworks Motorsport in 2019 BTCC

20-Feb-2019

Motul, the world-class engine lubricant company, and its UK distributor Witham Motorsport, are set to sponsor Team Toyota GB with Speedworks Motorsport as they prepare to embark on the 2019 British Touring Car Championship season.

Speedworks has had great success in the BTCC in recent years and has now upped the ante by joining forces with Toyota GB – an iconic name in motorsport - who make a welcome return to the series with their all new UK built Corolla.

Driver Tom Ingram - widely tipped as a future BTCC champion and one of the series’ undisputed rising stars, will be driving the new Corolla, changing from the Toyota Avensis that has won him nine races and secured consecutive Independent Team and Driver Trophies in 2017 and 2018.

Witham Motorsport – who are the UK distributor of Motul automotive products – have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Speedworks and the BTCC.  “We’re thrilled to be sponsoring and supplying Motul lubricants to Speedworks and Tom Ingram for a fifth consecutive year in the BTCC. 2019 marks an exciting new chapter after gaining factory backing from Toyota GB, which will no doubt help push for the overall BTCC title,” said Richard Scarbrough, Sales Director at Witham Motorsport.

Christian Dick, Speedworks Motorsport Team Principal said: "Motul and Witham Motorsport have supported us since Tom came on board in 2014 and have become a major part of the team, their support has been infallible and we look forward to embarking on this new chapter with them, Good quality oil and fluids always improves performance so we’re delighted to be working with Motul and Witham Motorsport for what I hope will be our best season yet”.

The BTCC 2019 season starts in March with the championship annually attracting over one million viewers on TV and thousands of spectators at each race.  The official season launch will take place over two days at Brands Hatch on 27th March where the new racing livery for the Team Toyota GB with Speedworks Motorsport Corolla will be revealed.
The first round of the BTCC will commence on 6/7 April on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit, moving on to Donington Park, Thruxton, Croft and Oulton Park.
